The Work We Undertake

When contracted by a client to undertake work on a new site, there are a number of actions that need to be taken by Allstone Earthworks to prepare the site and ensure it is safe for not only our team of operatives to work on, but also any other contractors who have to undertake work in or around the site.

Site Survey

We undertake an initial site survey on behalf of the client to get a good understanding of the site. We use the latest drone technology, which is a quick and cost-effective way of building up a picture of the topography of the site. From the data that we collect from the drone, we are then able to get a clear understanding of what work needs to be taken to prepare this site, ready for contractors to work on.

Site Preparation Measures

Site preparation work can involve the removal of vegetation, demolishing unused buildings and disposing of the rubble. Our parent company, Allstone Glasgow, can be called upon if required, to undertake the necessary removal of materials.

The work we undertake when preparing a site may see us erecting temporary Heras fencing, in order to safeguard the perimeter of the site, as well as installing overhead protective barriers to protect contractors coming into contact with overhead powerlines.

Generally at this stage of preparing a site, Allstone Earthworks are usually the principal contractor on-site and as such, we will also set up a site compound, usually consisting of car parking, office accommodation, security premises and also cleaning and toileting facilities for site staff to use.
